The Excise Enforcement and Anti-narcotics Special Squad on Sunday busted a drug racket and arrested four persons.

The accused have been identified as Sebastian Sanu, Subash, Manu Antony and Hari. The sleuths also seized 104 nitrazepam ampoules and 250 grams of ganja, in addition to a cache of arms, from their possession.

The accused had been running the racket from a rented house in Pukkattupady. They also operated as a quotation gang in Ernakulam and Alappuzha regions. They purchased narcotics for cheap rates mainly from Tamil Nadu, and sold it at a higher price in the local market.

“While Sebastian and Subash were the kingpins of the racket, the other two facilitated their operation. These persons are also wanted in several criminal cases in the district,” officials said.

The sleuths are also on the look out for two more persons, Antony and Ajamal, who have escaped to Tamil Nadu.
