The City police on Wednesday issued an order to all residents and establishments holding DJ parties to take permission and get clearance from the police at least 15 days before the event.
The conditions were imposed in the wake of the growing popularity of such parties which were said to be promoting illegal activities, according to a statement issued by District Police Chief (Kochi City) S. Surendran.
The police have also imposed restrictions on job interviews. Recruiters will now have to obtain prior permission for holding interviews and job fairs in the city, they said. Hotels, auditoriums, and convention centre managements have also been directed to ensure that such events have all the mandatory clearances. The step has been initiated following reports of fraudsters posing as recruiters for jobs in India and abroad duping aspirants.
The City police have also asked residents to make use of the Connect with Commissioner initiative to alert the police to criminal activities in their neighbourhood. The District Police Chief has assured that the identity of informers will be kept confidential.
