Corporation’s anti-mosquito drive begins at Kammattipadam

New bio-larvicide to be tried across the city

KOCHI: The Kochi Corporation is trying all tricks up its sleeves to control mosquito population in the city.

Accordingly, a new larvicide was applied at Kammattipadam in the Gandhi Nagar division of the Corporation.

The new ‘bio-larvicide’ will be tried in all the divisions of the civic body.

The Corporation decided to try the new larvicide after it was successfully tested in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, said a communication issued by the civic body.

Mayor Soumini Jain inaugurated the application of the new pest control spray.

Deputy Mayor T.J. Vinod; Poornima Narayan, division councillor and chairperson of the education standing committee; V.K. Minimol, chairperson, health standing committee; P.M. Harris, chairman, works standing committee; K.V.P. Krishnakumar, chairman, tax appeals standing committee, and K.J. Antony, LDF leader in the council, were present.
