Kerala CBSE School Managements Association has claimed that students under the Central Board of Secondary Education had performed better compared to those in the State syllabus in the Kerala engineering and medical entrance examinations.
Indira Rajan, general secretary of the association, said that about 15,109 CBSE students found place in the engineering rank list out of the about 19,000 candidates under the stream that appeared for the entrance test. The percentage of CBSE students that cleared the test was about 79.52 per cent. About 43.65 per cent of the students, who pursued the State syllabus, got a place in the rank list, she said.
Ms. Rajan pointed out that about 19,758 CBSE students figured in the medical entrance rank list out of the 21,462 candidates under the stream, who wrote the exam. Over 62,000 candidates out of the about 80,396 students under the State syllabus figured in the rank list, she claimed.
