The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday carried out raids on the offices of eight recruitment firms in Kochi and Kottayam as part of its probe into the nurses’ recruitment scam.

According to officials, the raids were carried out on specific information regarding the involvement of these agencies in the scam. “During the raids, carried out simultaneously at Kottayam, Kochi and Chalakkudy, several incriminating evidences were collected. Preliminary assessment of these documents show that these agencies, in connivance with the Protector of Emigrants, charged a fee higher than stipulated under the POE rules from their candidates’’, said a senior official.

The agencies in which raids were carried out were identified as JK International, Pan Asia, Mediline, Globe, Dhanush, Skyline and Mathew International.
