Cancer screening facility in Chalakkudy LS constituency

All taluk hospitals in Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency area soon will provide screening facility for breast cancer.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Innocent, MP, said that mammography units will be provided at all taluk hospitals in his constituency under Shraddha Cancer Prevention Programme. The taluk hospitals where the units would be located are Kodungallur,

Chalakudy, Aluva, Perumbavur and Angamaly. The MP Local Area Development fund of Rs. 3 crore will facilitate the cancer screening facility in these hospitals. Kodungallur unit had already got the administrative sanction for which Rs. 61 lakhs will be spent on setting up the mammography unit and a building to house it.

Mammography units will be set up this year at Aluva district hospital, Perumbavur and Chalakudy taluk hospitals.
