Indian Oil Corporation is organising a programme ‘Fun O’ Road’ here on May 28 with a view to bringing Kochiites for a few hours of fun on the road.
The programme is being organised on Shihab Thangal Road in Panampilly Nagar, said a senior company officialhere on Thursday. The venue is the road between the IOC office at Panampilly Nagar and Jal Vayu Vihar apartments.
The idea is to “bring back the memories of playing on the road,” he added. Games, sporting activities, dance, and other events will be organised between 7.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday. No motorised traffic will be permitted on the stretch during the programme hours.
Yoga and Zumba dance will also be part of the programmes. Sports persons from IOC will be among those participating in the programmes. Those expected at the programme include T.S. Ravi, grand master in chess; and national players like Jaseel P. Ismail, Markos Bristow and Aparna Balan.
The ‘Fun O’ Road’ event will also be a green event. Around 150 saplings and 1,000 packets of vegetable seeds will be distributed during the programme.
