A team of officers from the Operational Sea Training Guide (OSTG) of Bangladesh Navy led by Commodore A.S.M. Afzalul Haque visited the Southern Naval Command on December 13 and 14. The head of the delegation called on Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) Rear Admiral Sanjay J. Singh and Chief Staff Officer (Training) Rear Admiral K. Swaminathan. The visit was to understand the methodology being adopted by the Navy for the conduct of operational sea training of ships. During the visit, the delegation interacted with FOST, the Indian Navy Work-Up Team (INWT), and other training schools.

The Bangladesh Navy Team interacted with the Indian Navy Work-Up Team and Indian Navy Safety Team and later visited the Damage Control Training Facility (DCTF) at Seamanship School, the Water Survival Training Facility (WSTF) at INS Garuda and the Navigation and Direction School to observe the training conducted on Ship Handling Simulator. The operational sea training activities being conducted by the work-up team on board INS Ranvijay was demonstrated to the visiting delegation.
