Nearly a month after being ousted from the post, Congress councillor Lissy Baby on Tuesday was re-elected as vice chairperson of the Angamaly municipality.
Deputy Director of Diary Development Department and Returning officer George Kutty Jacob declared MS. Baby as winner in the election held at the municipality office at 11.30 a.m.
Of the total 29 votes polled, she won 16 votes while Gracy Teacher, the LDF candidate, got just 12.
In the 30-member council, LDF has 12 members while UDF has 13 councillors. Ms. Baby was ousted from the post on April 20 following a no-confidence motion moved by the LDF.
