Thirty-five children and their parents from Kunchippara Adivasi Colony, near Kuttampuzha, visited Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (CSL) on Gandhi Jayanti Day. The children and their parents reached the shipyard at 2 p. m. and were received by the Shipyard’s general manager M. D. Varghese, said a press release here. The Adivasi group had an interactive session with the officials of the Shipyard. They said that they lived mostly on collecting wild produces like honey and matting bamboo. Poor educational facilities and poor road infrastructure are the most serious problems they face, they told the Shipyard officials. The visit of the Adivasi group was organised as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility activities of the Cochin Shipyard, the press release said. The children and their parents were shown around the yard and they were given a briefing on the activities at the Shipyard.
