Adalat to settle domestic violence

: Petitions to be taken up in adalats to settle domestic violence cases in the district can be sent to the Women Protection Officer District Social Justice Office, Civil Station, Muvattupuzha before November 5.

The adalats will be held in association with District Legal Services Authority. Counselling to the victims of domestic violence would also be arranged. More details can be obtained from 9539064236.

Parliamentary panel on forests

: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests led by Ashwini Kumar, MP, will be holding hearing in Kochi and Agathi from November 12 to 15. The committee will hold a sitting on Compensatory Forestation Fund Bill, environmental problems in the State, particularly in the district on November 14. Those interested in participating in the hearing can give an application by November 10 to V.S. P. Singh, Joint Director, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Delhi.

Re-dedication day

: The death anniversary of Indira Gandhi on October 31 will be observed as a national re-dedication day. A two-minute silence will be observed in all government offices and educational institutions from 10.15 to 10.17 a.m. Government employees, teachers, non-teaching staff and students will gather and take pledge for the nation. Official heads will lead the pledge and it will be followed by the national anthem.

Seminar on organ donation

: Tourism Professionals Club, an association of tour operators, will conduct a seminar on Saturday on the importance of organ donation and social responsibility in association with Heart Care Foundation, Kerala. Dr. Jacob Abraham, anaesthetist and founder member of the Foundation, will deliver a talk on the occasion.
