Warm reception to Haritha Express across district

Haritha Keralam Mission’s promotional vehicle, Haritha Express, wrapped up its two-day journey across the district on Thursday.

The drive is intended to steer Kerala into a garbage-free State with unpolluted water, air and food and the vehicle announcing this received rousing receptions at Ernakulam Boat Jetty and the eastern parts of the district.

At Mulanthuruthy, district panchayat president Asha Sanil inaugurated the reception accorded to the promotional tour. The touring team was received with garlands and bouquets made using vegetables. Kadambanad Jayanchandran and team rendered folk songs and poems to add colour to the occasion.

At the Boat Jetty, Mayor Soumini Jain inaugurated the reception. She said it would be good to process waste at source and use it for cultivation of vegetables. Anoop Jacob and Antony John, MLAs, inaugurated the receptions at Piravom and Kothamangalam respectively.
