Police forum district meet concludes

City Police still have reluctance in consulting the elected representatives before taking decisions which have a social impact, said Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams. She was speaking after inaugurating the public function marking the end of the 27th district meeting of the Kerala Police Association (KPA) at Beeyems Centre, Thoppumpady, here on Friday. Baby Joseph, district president of KPA presided over the function.

George Francis, founder general secretary, and Madhu Kurupath, State joint secretary, KPA; K. Lalji, district president of Kerala Police Officers' Association, and Surendran, Kerala Fire Service Association, also spoke at the function.

Delegates' meet

Earlier in the day, inaugurating the delegates' meeting, City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham said that the City Police were working on a system to send summons to respondents through SMS as part of employing new technologies to bring down the work pressure on the force.
