The Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association’s golden jubilee annual conference concluded here on Saturday with a resolution calling for revision of the staff pattern of government hospitals and formation of a public panel of doctors to make organ donation more transparent.

Review of PG quota for Health Services doctors, expediting government order on the duties and responsibilities of superspecialty cadre and including Health Services doctors under Special Category for pay revision were among the other demands included in the resolution adopted at the conference, said KGMOA president Dr. V. Madhu.

Inaugurating the valedictory session of the conference, Health Services Director R. Ramesh asked the doctors to reach out to the people. The government was actively considering the KGMOA proposal for revising the staff pattern. However, he said, the financial constraints were a major hurdle in increasing the number of staff.

Dr. V. Madhu, Dr. A.K. Rauf, and Dr. Jyothilal S. were unanimously re-elected president, general secretary, and treasurer of the association.
