Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor is expected to be in Alappuzha for a day's visit on November 30.

Army teams, including Military Police officials, completed a survey of various places in the town ahead of the General’s visit on Saturday.

The teams inspected the Punnamada Finishing Point, in particular, checking out the docking area of houseboats and going around in boats as well as alongside the shores of the lake. According to official sources, the inspections on the lake and the surroundings were conducted since the General was expected to take a short cruise on a houseboat and spend some time at a private resort here.

The houseboat cruise most likely would be after an official visit to the Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic near Thathampally here, the sources added.
