NaMo fever grips BJP workers in Kochi

Activists watch swearing-in live on big screen at Rajendra Maidan

NaMo fans in the city celebrated the elevation of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of the nation by holding special prayers and arranging fireworks on Monday.

Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers erupted in joy when Mr. Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister around 6 p.m. They watched the ceremony live on a big screen set up at the Rajendra Maidan in the evening.

Members of the Narendra Modi fans immersed themselves in celebrations that poured on to the streets amid saffron flags and fireworks. They also handed out sweets to the passerby and motorists.

Party workers also danced to the drum beats and raised slogans in support of Narendara Modi.

In the morning, free food was provided to the inmates at General Hospital by the Narendra Modi Fans Association. Ernakulam Karayogam distributed payasam to the public while special prayers were held at Ernakulam Siva temple. ‘NaMo’ tea was distributed by BJP workers at Kadavantra.

Celebrations were also held across Ernakulam from the morning.

Several rallies involving BJP workers were held at various places. Party supporters also took out motorcycle rallies to celebrate the swearing in of Mr. Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
