Youth crushed to death by RTC bus

A final year degree student was crushed to death by an RTC bus on the Nagarjunasagar highway near Turkayamjal village in Hayatnagar around 8.15 p.m. on Saturday.

Tulla Sharath Goud (21) of Turkayamjal village was returning home after dropping his mother at her parents’ house in Injapur village when the accident took place, Adibatla police said.

“While trying to take a ‘U’ turn, the victim’s bike handle grazed the bus from the side, following which he lost control and came under the wheels,” police said. Bus driver Gulab Singh was taken into custody.

Tulla Sharath Goud suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Tailor succumbs

A 63-year-old tailor from Nalgonda district, who was hit by an RTC bus while crossing the road near Astalaxmi temple in Kothapet under Chaitanyapuri police station area last week, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night.

Siliveri Bikshapathi of Gurampadu village, Nalgonda, came to Hyderabad on March 7 to visit his daughter.

“While crossing the road to reach his daughter’s house, an RTC bus of Eluru depot, coming from MGBS, hit him. He suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to a private hospital in the area. From there, he was shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where he died at 8 p.m. on Saturday,” police said.
