Youth arrested for social media post

A youth from Komaticheruvu village in Kasipet mandal of Mancherial district was arrested by Kasipet police on August 16 for objectionable social media posts. The incident came to light only on Sunday. According to police, the accused, Salluri Kumar, had posted objectionable uploads which had the potential of causing friction between two communities. The post which had mention of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Bellampalli MLA Durgam Chinnaiah was uploaded in August 15.

The youth was booked under sections 153 a and 505 (c) (2) of IPC based on a complaint from a couple of villagers. He was subsequently sent in remand.
