May 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Despite previous arrests, Mir Kazam Ali Khan (22) of Tolichowki continued to burgle flats, only to be arrested by the police yet again.

This time, he was caught by the Commissioner’s Task Force sleuths, along with three persons who purchased the jewellery he had stolen. Gold jewellery weighing 1.3 kg and a bike were recovered from the quartet, TF Additional DCP B. Limba Reddy said at a press conference on Friday.

Khan was first arrested for purchasing a laptop despite knowing that it was stolen. Eventually, he started stealing and became a professional burglar, Mr. Reddy said. The accused studied in a premier school in city. His father was a retired government employee.

Khan would do reconnaissance of apartment buildings in high-profile localities. He would move on a bike posing as electrician, AC technician or friend of a flat owner. He would wait near tea-stalls till inmates of a flat went out.
