World Telugu Conference from June 2

CM asks officials to organise it for a week or 10 days

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked officials to organise for a week or 10 days the World Telugu Conference which is scheduled to be inaugurated on June 2 to coincide with State formation.

He wanted the government to bear the transportation costs of Telugu pandits who will attend the inaugural function at HICC and they should be treated on duty. He also wanted programmes all through the conference to address different genres of Telugu language and literature, a release issued on a meeting of the organising committee of the conference, that he presided over, said.

Mr. Rao sought the presence of prominent literary personalities, literary connoisseurs and Telugu pandits at the conference. All those who contributed to the promotion of Telugu language and literature from Andhra Pradesh and other States and countries should be invited. Meetings, conferences and workshop should take place in day time and evenings reserved for cultural programmes.
