Woman, minor among 13 held for theft

Police on Tuesday nabbed 13 persons, including a woman and a juvenile, for their alleged involvement in cases of chain snatching, burglary and vehicle theft.

Property worth over Rs.25 lakh was recovered from them, police said. While B. Naresh of Bidar, Roshan Yadav and Mohammed Mosin, both residents of Mangalhat, and Syed Shabeer Ahmed of First Lancers were involved in chain snatchings, Mohammed Ibrahim of Golconda and A. Mahender of Ranga Reddy district committed house burglaries.

Thirty-five-year-old Devamma and her daughter from Jubilee Hills were arrested for stealing a diamond necklace worth Rs.10 lakh from a house in Jubilee Hills, while D. Krishna and K. Sridhar Naik, both residents of S.R. Nagar, Punith of Manikonda, P. Narasimha Chary of Boduppal and Arun Kumar of Langer Houz were caught for stealing vehicles.
