The Chaitanyapuri police apprehended a woman working as a security guard from her residence in Moosapet and recovered four gold chains weighing over 147 grams from her possession.

Police identified the accused as B Raka (20), who hails from Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused, police said, fell on hard times after her parents were diagnosed with paralysis and has been struggling to make ends meet. She moved to Hyderabad after marriage and has been living in a rented accommodation.

In an attempt to make ‘easy money’ the accused wore a burqa and went to jewellery shops. She then indulged in attention diversion and replaced original jewellery with imitation jewellery. On October 22, she went to Khazana Jewellery Shop and used the same modus operandi. Police said the accused was involved in four separate cases.
