Stating that the Huzurnagar win is like tonic for the government to pursue its governance with vigour, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said he would visit the constituency on Saturday to thank the voters.

“Last elections we lost it by 7,000 odd votes and now won with a margin of over 43,000 votes. This was a calculated voting and the gain of more than 50,000 votes is massive on any scale,” he said at a press conference here. He assured that all the promises made will be kept.

The election results should be an eye opener for the Opposition parties and it should realise that personal attacks on the Chief Minister will take them nowhere, he said. This win has come in the midst of debates and discussions on the governance and at least now Opposition parties should think the line they should take, he said, and expected constructive criticism from the opposition.

Praises Palla

The Chief Minister praised the election in-charge and MLC, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, for skilfully coordinating with the party workers and leaders, and also the few Ministers pressed into campaigning for taking the government programmes to the people.

He said Mr. Rajeshwar Reddy has requested me to visit the constituency, and permission from the Election Commission was sought. I will go there to thank the voters, party leaders and the cadre, he said asking the party to accept the win with humility.
