The wife of a home guard set herself afire after reportedly being unable to bear her husband’s harassment.
According to Manchal police, the incident took place around 11.30 p.m. on Monday. The victim, a 25-year-old woman, and her husband, identified as U Ravinder (30), were married for nine years and have two children – a boy and a girl.
Police said that Ravinder used to beat the victim in an inebriated condition and also demanded more dowry.
