A first year student of an engineering college attacked with knife another first year student at Dhulapally in Petbasheerabad, allegedly enraged over comments in WhatsApp group they had made against each other.

The victim, Bhuvaneshwar, suffered a cut injury on his neck and face. He was admitted to a hospital. Doctors said he was operated upon and out of danger. Both are students of Narsimha Reddy Engineering College.

“Bhuvaneshwar and the other student had posted comments in the WhatsApp group against each another. This created a rift between them,” Petbasheerabad ACP Ande Srinivasa Rao said.

After Bhuvaneshwar alighted from the bus near the college in the morning, the other student attacked him with a knife, inflicting a bleeding injury on him. The attacker fled the spot as other students gathered.
