Nethi Vidyasagar was sworn in as the Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council after Chairman K. Swamy Goud declared his unanimous election.

Chief Minister K. Chadrasekhara Rao led the Deputy Chairman to his chair in the Council on Tuesday accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Md. Mahmood Ali and Kadiyam Srihari and Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Indrakaran Reddy.

In all, 26 members cutting across party lines proposed the name of Mr. Vidyasagar Rao for the Deputy Chairman’s post, paving his unanimous election.

Extending his greetings, Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao recalled that Mr. Vidyasar Rao entered public life at an early age and served as the Deputy Chairman in the united AP Legislative Council. After creation of Telangana State, he ensured smooth conduct of Council proceedings and befittingly he was chosen again as Deputy Chairman.

The Chief Minister said he was confident that meaningful discussions would take place during his tenure.

In his response, Mr. Vidyasagar Rao thanked the Chief Minister, Ministers and members on his election and expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for reposing faith in him. He promised to render his services to people through the House.
