Uppal MLA holds meeting on project

Uppal legislator N.V.S.S. Prabhakar organised an awareness meeting on the proposed Uppal Elevated Corridor, which was recently cleared by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.

The project to be taken up at a cost of ₹950 crore includes road development, road widening and also elevated corridor up to Narapally on the way to Ghatkesar on the Warangal highway.

The meeting held at the GHMC Uppal Office was attended by citizens, traders and residents where the MLA explained the benefits of the project that will not only decongest the traffic but also elevate the area commercially.

Guidelines explained

The MLA assured the residents losing land and property that compensation will be paid as per the guidelines of of the new Land Acquisition Act.

Mr. Prabhakar said he personally met Mr. Gadkari and submitted a representation on the elevated corridor. Since the Hyderabad-Bhoopalapatnam national highway 163 passes through Uppal and Yadadri being developed as an international pilgrimage destination, he sought an elevated corridor to solve the traffic issues. The meeting thanked Mr. Gadkari for total sanction of funds and including it in this financial year outlay, Mr. Prabhakar said.
