UoH to offer open online course in Public Policy

University of Hyderabad (UoH) is launching a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on ‘Public Policy: An Introduction’ on Independence Day and it will be offered free to the learners.

The UoH has collaborated with Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ), Ajmer in designing the content and delivering it. The course is coordinated by a senior faculty I. Ramabrahmam from Department of Political Science while the experts who would teach include Appa Rao P and Arun Kumar Pujari.

Prof. Ramabrahmam said that N. Parameswaran, Senior Consultant to the MHRD, Government of India has provided technical support in developing the content. He said public policy has emerged as a separate discipline in recent times all over the world and the course is designed to cater to the increasing demands of knowledge about public policy.

This course aims at familiarising the learners with the key concepts and theories of public policy. The course examines how different actors play their role in shaping and influencing the policy process.
