UoH appoints new Pro Vice-Chancellor

Arun Agarwal, former dean, School of Computer and Information Sciences at University of Hyderabad, has been appointed the Pro Vice-Chancellor 1 for a period of two years. He has replaced B.P. Sanjay, who has requested for sabbatical leave to take up academic assignments. Prof. Arun Agarwal completed his B.Tech and Ph.D from IIT-Delhi and started his career as a senior research assistant at IIT-Delhi. He then joined University of Hyderabad in 1984 as a professor in School of Computer and Information Sciences. He was a visiting scientist at The Robotics Institute, Carnegie-Mellon University, U.S.A. and research associate at Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, U.S.A.

He is presently a member of DST-LHC Task Force. He has guided 16 Ph.D scholars and more than 125 postgraduate dissertations and has published over 130 papers, a press release said.
