Two held for murder

June 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Falaknuma police arrested two persons on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the murder of a salesman, Altaf Ahmed, reported three days ago at Fatimanagar. The accused persons, Syed Hassan and Syed Yousuf, both co-brothers, are residents of Fatimanagar.

Hassan and Altaf were accused of murdering one Shaik Sajid at Bahadurpura in 2013. “Hassan bore a grudge against Altaf as the latter took him out on the pretext of attending a wedding and murdered Sajid over a trivial issue in 2013. Both of them spent three months in prison before coming out on bail,” Inspector Falaknuma, K.M. Kiran Kumar said. Also, Hassan took Rs. 5,000 from Altaf and the latter was demanding it back.

On Monday night, Hassan and Yousuf asked Altaf to come to Fatimanagar. “The trio consumed liquor in the early hours of Tuesday. An argument ensued between them over repayment of Rs. 5,000 following which the brothers stabbed Altaf with a kitchen utility knife,” the official said.
