Two girls held for ‘cheating’ men


The Mirchowk police on Monday detained two teenaged girls for allegedly cheating men through social networking sites.

The girls reportedly created two profiles on Facebook and posted pictures of models and lured the victims.

“The two girls introduced themselves as college students and collected SIM cards, camera and money from the men. Around 100 persons were victimised by them,” the Mirchowk police said.

The fraud came to light when the police checked their Facebook profiles and contacted a few ‘friends’.

Based on the information provided by them, the police traced the girls at their relative’s house and detained them.

Man stabbed to death

A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by his brother’s in-law at Kishanbagh under Bahadurpura police station limits on Monday night.

The victim, Syed Chand (35) was standing at a parking lot at Kishanbagh when his relatives Shaik Ghouse and Taher along with two of his friends attacked him with a rod resulting in his death, ACP Charminar K Ashok Chakrawarthy said.

Mr. Ashok Chakrawarthy added that Chand was harassed his wife over trivial issue as the attack was result of it.
