Two persons were killed and a woman suffered severe injuries after the scooter they were travelling on was knocked down allegedly by a speeding cab.
Police said that the victims, all cooks, were returning home on a scooter after finishing work at a function hall in Shankarpally when the accident occurred. The victims were identified as Dawood (36), who was riding the motorcycle and pillion rider Sallauddin (35) of Tolichowki and injured Rangamma (35) from Shaikpet area.

“As they approached Miyakhangadda village, a speeding cab hit them from behind. The impact was such that Dawood lost control of the two-wheeler and they were dragged on for nearly 100 metres,” he said.
While death was instant for Dawood, Sallauddin died while undergoing treatment at a hospital around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Rangamma is battling for life at NIMS here.
