Two cars, 222 known violations and over ₹ 36,700 in unpaid fines. This is what the Gachibowli Traffic Police discovered on Tuesday after issuing challans to drivers of the cars.

The vehicles were stopped in Gachibowli. While car bearing registration TS 32T 2444 has a total of 102 pending challans from August 1, 2018 to January 29 this year, amounting to ₹ 16,800, the other car with registration number TS 07UA 9202 has racked up a staggering 120 fines from September 8, 2018 to January 28, 2019 amounting to a whopping ₹ 19,930 in fines. A total of ₹36,730. Traffic violations for both cars were recorded primarily at Gachibowli Junction and points along the Outer Ring Road. Police said that vehicles have been seized and that if these fines remain unpaid, the car owners would be charge-sheeted. Police did not rule out the possibility of car owners being jailed. Further, police underscored that vehicles with 10 or more pending challans would be detained for further action.
