Two car drivers held for stealing cash from businessman

The city police on Friday caught a car driver along with his friend for allegedly escaping with Rs.21.53 lakh and a van of his employer.

The police recovered Rs.20.92 lakh cash, a van and two mobile phones from the arrested person S. Narasimha (27) of Hills Colony in Saroornagar and his friend B.Vijay Kumar (32) of Yeshwanthpur. The duo was working as car drivers.

Trusted employee

Narasimha had been working with his employer T. Ramesh Gupta, a businessman from Malakpet for the past one month. Ramesh, who trusted Narasimha completely, used to give the cash bag to the driver every evening to be kept in the car.

A few days ago when Ramesh handed over the cash bag to Narasimha before leaving the office, the latter ran away with the cash bag containing Rs.21.53 lakh in a van along with his friend Kumar, who was waiting near the office.

After receiving a complaint from Ramesh, the police formed special teams and nabbed the duo at Warangal and recovered the cash.

Ganja seized from two

In a separate case, two persons were arrested by the police for allegedly possessing ganja. The arrested were identified as Mohammed Amir alias Amir (22) and Shaik Abdul Latheef alias Zamir (20), both residents of Tolichowki.

Twenty eight grams of ganja was seized from them, according to police.
