Telangana’s residential model of education is worthy of emulation by all developing countries to reach out to poor children, said Keukeu Komarawath, Director of Social Welfare, Government of Indonesia. She was part of the 13-member delegation from South-East Asian countries visiting social welfare residential educational institutions to study the functioning of these schools in Telangana on Thursday.

“I see a new generation of leaders from social welfare schools. I am particularly impressed with these schools and we will explore this model in our country,” she said, according to a press release.

TSWREIS Secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar explained to them the policies initiated by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in putting thousands of poor children on the path of higher education and career advancement under the KG to PG Mission.

Delegates from Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam are on a week-long visit to Telangana to study social inclusion and financial security policies of the government.
