Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TSSPDCL) has issued energy tariff for illumination of Ganesh pandals from September 2 to 12 by asking its Superintending Engineers to release low-tension (LT) temporary supply by collecting lumpsum amount in advance, based on the connected load of pandals.
According to a press release issued by the power utility on Tuesday, ₹ 500 would be collected for connected load up to 250 watts, ₹1,000 for the connected load above 250 watts and up to 500 watts and ₹1,500 for the connected load above 500 watts and up to 1,000 watts plus ₹750 for every 500 watts or part thereof.
In case the pandal committees (applicants) are willing to avail metered supply, it would be extended as per rules in vogue under LT temporary supply at the tariff of ₹ 11 per unit and fixed charges of ₹ 21/KW and other conditions as per the tariff order for 2018-19. Chairman and Managing Director of TSSPDCL G. Raghuma Reddy, however, cautioned that availing power supply by tapping/hooking directly from the power transmission lines was not only illegal, but dangerous. He asked the field Superintending Engineers to motivate the Ganesh pandal organisers for availing power officially.
