TSNPDCL bags SKOCH award

Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TSNPDCL) has bagged the SKOCH order of merit award for its initiatives to improve solar power generation capacity and also implementation of distributed generation model to reduce transmission losses.

The award was received by Chief General Manager (Humar Resources) P. Sandhya Rani and Company Secretary K. Venkatesham at an event held in New Delhi on recently.

Under the initiatives to increase solar power generation capacity, the distribution company has encouraged development of 893 MW installed capacity of which 533 MW is off-grid connected. With 54.4 lakh consumers and round-the-clock power supply to agriculture sector the average daily consumption of power has gone up from 2,909 MW in 2016-17 to 3,445 MW in 2017-18.

The additional load during the day time for agriculture sector is being met from solar power. During 2017-18, a capacity addition of 669 MW helped the power utility to meet the deficit of power in day time.
