TS continues lead over others in own tax revenues

Telangana continues to maintain lead over others in terms of tax revenues in the last four years.

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, in its official website, said Telangana registered the highest growth rate in the State’s own tax revenues in the preceding four years. With State’s own tax revenues growing at 17.2%, Telangana stood ahead of all other States in the country.

The CAG listed out the growth rate of tax revenues registered in all other States between June 2014 and May 2018. Telangana topped the list with 17.2% average growth and it is followed by Haryana (14.2%), Maharashtra (13.9%), Odisha (12.4%) and West Bengal (10.3%). The rest of the States registered growth rate below 10%. Telangana registered 13.7% growth during 2015-16, 21.1% in 2016-17 and 16.8% in 2017-18.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed satisfaction over the development and said progressive financial policies, and fiscal discipline resulted in the State achieving the growth.
