Telangana State BJP unit has condemned the alleged attack on the party president Amit Shah’s convoy at Alipiri in Tirupati last night and charged that it was a pre-planned act and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should take full responsibility for it.

“This is an effort to incite and instigate the peace-loving people only to cover up for the Telugu Desam’s misgovernance. They have been unable to digest the continuing success of the BJP in different States and corruption-free regime of Narendra Modi,” said party president K. Laxman on Friday. He claimed that the AP Government had been trying to put the blame on the Centre for all the failures of the State government and for being unable to give proper account for the funds disbursed by the Centre.

The Viswa Hindu Parishad - Telangana has condemned the alleged attack on the BJP President, Amit Shah. In a statement here, Ravinuthala Shashidhar, official spokesperson of the VHP Telangana said that Telugu Deshan cadre had attacked the convoy and it was undemocratic.

He said a sacred place like Tirumala cannot be used for political activities and demanded an apology from the Telugu Desham Party (TDP) for the attack. He asked the AP Government to protect the sanctity of the place by avoiding such incidents.

Meanwhile, BJP Andhra Pradesh State general secretary Jammula Shyam Kishore, in a press statement in Vijayawada, said it was not proper on the part of Telugu Desam Party to block the BJP leader who was on his way to Tirumala.

The Andhra Pradesh State government was making the police department ineffective for its vested interests, alleged Mr. Shyam Kishore.
