‘Govt. delaying implementation of promises like unemployment allowance’

The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has expressed doubts that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi led Government was trying to delay the implementation of its promises like ₹3,016 a month unemployment allowance to youth and doubling the quantum of social welfare pensions that are being given to different sections.

TDP polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, in an informal chat with reporters here, said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s claims on providing unemployment allowance from the next financial year after studying the implementation of the scheme in other States was a pointer to the moves to delay the implementation of the scheme. The TDP was committed to mounting pressure on the government in a democratic manner for ensuring the implementation of the scheme at the earliest.

He took objections to the criticism mounted by the TRS leaders against TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s campaign in the run up to elections in Telangana. He recalled the claims of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s son K.T. Rama Rao that the TRS would enter into AP as it was an integral part of India and said the TRS however objected to Mr. Naidu’s campaign here. The TRS leaders should first clarify their stand on their association with the MIM, the YSR Congress and other parties which opposed bifurcation of the State. “The TRS should clarify its tacit understanding with the BJP,” he said.

He dismissed the TRS’ claims that the TDP had lost its base in Telangana claiming that the party had a strong cadre base of eight lakh in addition to the elected representatives including MLAs in the State. “The TRS in fact does not have a base in AP, but the party is making tall claims on making forays into the neighbouring State,” he said.
