TRS party office in New Delhi soon

Centre gives nod for party’s request

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi will soon have a full-fledged office of its own in New Delhi.

The Ministry of Urban Development has given its consent in this regard, following the party’s request to allot land for construction of party office in the national capital. According to the Union Urban Development Ministry’s policy on land allotment, TRS, with more than 16 MPs in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, would be entitled to 1,000 sq.m land for construction of party office.

The policy states that land would be allotted on leasehold basis and the allotment would be made on payment of premium at zonal variant institutional rate prevailing on the date of allotment. TRS MP B. Vinod Kumar told The Hindu that allotment of land for construction of offices of political parties in the national capital was not new and several parties had been given land for the purpose. It was planned to take possession of the land after Sankranti.
