TRS Ministers demand action against Chandrababu Naidu

June 01, 2015 05:49 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 05:03 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Stepping up their campaign against the TDP, the TRS ministers and legislators demanded action against the TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him as the main conspirator behind the bribing scandal involving MLA A. Revanth Reddy. They also wanted the TDP MLA to be disqualified.

Finance Minister Eatala Rajender referred to the disqualification of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MPs in a similar scandal, and of the Lok Sabha members involved in ‘Cash for Questions’ scandal, and said similar yardstick should be applied to Mr. Revanth Reddy too.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Rajender accused Mr. Naidu of selling party tickets for crores of rupees in the elections and turning the planned state capital in favour of real estate businessmen.

“Instead of learning from 10 years out of power, Mr. Naidu continues to rely only on money power but not on people and democracy. This is a blatant case of open bribery, as against the indirect deals. Action should be taken against Mr. Naidu also,” he demanded.

Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy demanded that Mr. Naidu be named the prime accused in this case, and alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy acted only as a tool in his hands.

Though there is no need or opportunity for it, Mr. Naidu is trying to compete with TRS and dethrone the Government here. Though the TRS too invited members from other parties, it never tried to bribe the members, he pointed out.

Earlier, members from Mr. Revanth Reddy’s home district Mahabubnagar, led by Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, accused Mr. Naidu of exploiting a Telangana legislator for self serving purposes.

Mr. Rao called for resignations from Mr. Revanth Reddy and Mr. Naidu and their disqualification by the Election Commission, besides de-recognition of the TDP.

He, along with MLA Srinivas Goud called upon the Telangana TDP cadre to realize the true face of Mr. Naidu.
