‘TRS leaders showing their insecurity’

Criticism of TRS shows their apprehension about poll prospects: Ravula

The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has said the apprehensions among the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders over their prospects in the elections whenever they are held are exposed with its criticism of the Opposition TDP.

TDP polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy took strong objections to the TRS’ claims that the TDP president had ordered survey by the intelligence wing and huge amounts of money were being pumped for ensuring TDP’s victory.

The TRS leaders were asserting that the TDP had no presence at all in Telangana on the one hand and were raising charges against the same party on the other.

“Are these charges not reflective of the apprehensions the ruling party has over its prospects because of the strong cadre base of the TDP?” he asked.

He ridiculed Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav for criticising the TDP recalling that Mr. Srinivas Yadav was in fact elected from the TDP ticket and subsequently switched loyalties to the TRS. The TDP-TS had proposed a broad-based alliance of the opposition parties as it was firm on ensuring the defeat of TRS “for unleashing a family rule” in the newly formed State.

TDP general secretary E. Peddi Reddy alleged that the TRS government which was now a caretaker government was trying to hoodwink the people with false promises like double bedroom houses for all. The TRS came to power with promises like spending ₹50,000 crore on the comprehensive development of Hyderabad and double bedroom houses to all which remained unfulfilled and the party was now trying to lure the people with the same promises.
