TRS confident of bagging GHMC Mayor’s post

February 03, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has exuded confidence of winning majority seats in GHMC council so as to bag the mayor’s post on its own although the polling remained only about 45 per cent in spite of all efforts by the administration and political parties to improve the polling percentage this time.

Minister for Information Technology K. Taraka Rama Rao, who spearheaded the TRS campaign, said they were confident of winning majority seats in GHMC irrespective of the low polling percentage and even the exit polls conducted by various media organisations had indicated the same.

Speaking to newspersons along with Special Advisor to Government D. Srinivas, Health Minister Dr. C. Laxma Reddy and others after the polling hours on Tuesday, he said the low percentage of polling would not augur well to democracy.
