A ‘thrilling’ act of two minors tripling on their two-wheelers ended in tragedy when one of the pillion riders was crushed under a truck after falling from the bike in the wee hours of Thursday at Khairatabad.

Punjagutta police said the accident took place around 3.50 a.m. near the Administrative Staff College of India when six youngsters on two bikes were proceeding towards Khairatabad junction.

“Their bikes were over speeding and collided. As a result they fell from the vehicle and M. Sai Krishna (16), a first-year intermediate student from Erragadda, came under the rear wheels of a truck moving in the same direction,” sub-inspector M Satish Kumar said.

The victim was dragged for over 50 metres after coming under the wheels of the truck and suffered severe injuries. Soon, he was rushed to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors declared Sai Krishna dead, the officer said.

Quoting the complaint lodged by Sai Krishna's father M Shankar, Mr. Satish said the boy left home around 9 p.m. on Wednesday after informing his parents that he was going to attend a function with a few friends.

The investigator said that a 17-year-old Gogula Adhitya was riding the bike while Sai Krishna was sitting in the centre and B. Prashanth was at the rear.

The lorry driver Venkanna stopped the vehicle near Hanuman temple, took an autorickshaw and went to Saifabad police station, where he surrendered.

On July 5, two minors died while their friend suffered serious injuries after their bike skidded and crashed into the metro rail median due to over speeding in Khairatabad.
