TJS, CPI asked to quit Cong. led alliance

‘Two parties should join BLF’

The CPI (Marxist) led Bahujana Left Front has requested the CPI and M. Kodandaram led Telangana Jana Samiti to rethink about their continuance in the Congress led grand alliance.

The CPI and TJS were among the progressive forces that had no similarities with the economic and other policies of the parties like the Congress, the TRS and the TDP. The parties should rethink and join hands with the BLF which had come forward with alternative economic and social development policies to those followed by the major parties.

“Going by the reports, the TJS is already being humiliated by the major parties,” CPI (M) state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said.

Mr. Veerabhadram said the BLF was prepared to hold discussions with the TJS and the CPI about forging an effective alternative if these parties agreed to cooperate. He expressed concern that the two parties continued their presence in the grand alliance with the sole intention of bringing down the TRS government rather than working out policies that could help in accelerated development of the newly formed State.

“The writing on the wall for the TRS is already clear and the people have made up their mind against the TRS. The TRS leadership had realised it,” he said adding this was evident from the manner in which the TRS leaders were trying to provoke the Telangana sentiment again by criticising Andhra people.

“The TRS leaders including the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao are making irresponsible statements about the neighbouring State. They are unable to answer the questions raised by the people over the promises that remained unfulfilled for more than four years,” he said.
