The Karimnagar district officials have provided three layers of security for the safe custody of the EVMs stored in the strongrooms at the SRR government and degree college, where counting would be conducted in the town here.
The first layer comprises BSF force, second layer CRPF and the third layer of security is being provided by the local police, said Joint Collector Shyam Prasad Lal.
Inspecting the security and counting arrangements for the Assembly elections in Karimnagar, Huzurabad, Choppadandi and Manakondur segments at SRR college on Sunday, he said that they had also installed the CCTV cameras for the round-the-clock surveillance of strongrooms and EVMs.
Stating that they had made all arrangements for the counting at SRR college, he said that final round of training for the counting staff would be provided on Monday. The counting of votes would begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, he said, and added that the postal ballots would be counted first.
He said the counting would be done at 14 tables for each Assembly segment. There would be 26 roundsfor Karimnagar segment, 19 rounds each for Choppadandi and Manakondur and 20 rounds for Huzurabad segment.
DRO Biksha Naik, returning officers Anand Kumar, Venkata Madhava Rao, Chennaiah and others were also present.
Reading session
Adilabad Special Correspondent: Arrangements for counting of votes in respective districts have been made by authorities and all the counting supervisors, deputy supervisors and micro observers are being trained in the process. In Adilabad, the officials performed the reading session on Sunday in which they went through Election Commission guidelines on counting of votes.
Votes for the mandals of Narnoor and Gadiguda which are in Adilabad district but fall under Asifabad (ST) constituency, will be counted in Asifabad while those in Utnoor and Indervelli mandals will be counted in Nirmal district as they fall under Khanapur (ST) constituency. Similarly, votes in EVMs from Jannaram mandal of Mancherial district will also be counted in Nirmal.
Counting will take place on an average of 14 tables and in 19 rounds, give or take a couple depending upon the constituencies, in the presence of micro observers. The counting centre for Adilabad and Boath constituencies is in the TTDC facility.

Nizamabad Special Correspondent: Arrangements are on for counting of votes for nine Assembly constituencies in the old undivided district. Counting for six segments –– Nizamabad (urban), Nizamabad (rural), Banswada, Armoor, Balkonda and Bodhan – will take place at Government Polytechnic Colleges and Indoor Stadium located in the middle of boys’ college, while for Yellareddy, Kamareddy and Jukkal (SC reserved) at AMC warehouse in Kamareddy.
Since the highest number of contestants (21) are in the fray from Nizamabad urban, 14 tables were set up and counting will be over in 16 rounds. Counting will begin at 8 am and first round result will come within one hour.
Collectors M. Ram Mohan Rao and N. Satyanarayana inspected the arrangements for counting here and Kamareddy respectively on Sunday. They also supervised the security arrangements at strongrooms where EVMs and VVPATS were kept.
