Tiff over soiled note led to tension in old city

Pan shop owner was assaulted

Hussaini Alam police on Thursday said that tiff between two groups near Palki Garden function hall resulted in mild tension in the area on Wednesday night.

A group of people, who came to attend a marriage party in the area attacked a pan shop owner Moosa Pasha for refusing to take a soiled note. In his complaint, Syed Khadar Pasha told police that on Wednesday night around 9.50 p.m. his younger son Moosa Pasha informed him that some people were assaulting him and his elder brother Mustafa Pasha.

Soon, he rushed to the spot along with his wife and saw the accused C Deva assaulting their sons. When Khadar Pasha tried to rescue the duo, the accused also attacked him with an iron rod and he suffered an injury on the forehead.

After police got the information, they swung into action and shifted the injured to Osmania General Hospital. As tension prevailed in the area, Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar along with south zone DCP Ambar Kishore Jha and other officials visited the spot and took steps to avoid the situation going out of control.
