Three modern fish markets for city: GHMC

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Standing Committee has cleared proposals for construction of three modern fish markets in Kukatpally, Nacharam and Begum Bazaar with major funding by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

In the weekly committee meeting presided by Mayor Majid Hussain, it was stated that the NFDB would pick up 90 per cent of the cost in each of the markets. Kukatpally market is estimated to cost Rs.2.78 crore, Nacharam Rs.2.49 crore and Begum Bazaar Rs.5.25 crore.

Other sanctioned works

Other works sanctioned included repairing the storm water drain at Moosarambagh at a cost of Rs.42.70 lakh, providing chain link meshes for China Rayuni Cheruvu at an estimated cost of Rs.48.85 lakh and for Kotha Cheruvu at an estimated cost of Rs.27.60 lakh, both in Alwal circle.

Mr. Hussain also announced that the advertisement wing had totally removed 245 lollipops put up on the central medians between Road No.1 KPHB Colony to Malaysian Township, L.B.Nagar to Nagole and at Srinagar Colony on Wednesday.
