Three killed in road accident in Hyderabad

Three youngsters, standing on the roadside on Nagarjuna Sagar highway near Gurramguda village were killed on spot, when a speeding SUV rammed into them here on Sunday.

The youth, hailing from Nalgonda district in Telangana, were living at a rented house in Omkar Nagar of Vanasthalipuram police station area.

According to police, the victims, who were thrown off for more than 30 metres, were standing on the side of the road near the Runway Food Court after having their dinner, when the accident occurred around 1 a.m.

The speeding SUV car driver lost control on the wheel and hit the victims, before grinding to a halt. The driver fled from the accident spot, police said.

The victims were identified as Khetavath Ganpati (18), a lab technician from Chinganmungi village, Daravath Sai Kumar (24) and his cousin Daravath Vamshi (19), both students and natives of Venkatadripalem near Miryalguda.

The bodies were shifted to Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Further details are awaited.
